I'm interrupting this dormant dog-blog to write about my entry into the world of children's literature - there will still be the occasional mention of my erstwhile doggie companion who is still a pup in spirit, if not in size.

Just the three of us...

Had a rare night out with Him-In-Doors on Friday night. Both daughters were sleeping over at respective friends and we were looking forward to a quiet morning. Got up to make Him-In-Doors poached eggs but, of course, had to feed Pip first...

This involved letting him in and these days once he’s in, he doesn’t want to go out. So he ‘helped’ me make the eggs. We took Him-In-Doors the paper and his coffee first. Pip bounded into the bedroom. He knows bedrooms are supposed to be off-limits but he doesn’t care.
Him-In-Doors was outraged.
‘No Pip! Get out Pip!’ he roared as Pip bounced up looking for a warm spot in bed. No luck on that side, he bounded around to my side. ‘Pip – NO!’
So, we got the message and departed, tail between our legs. Cooked the eggs and went to speak to Him-In-Doors through the door.
‘Sweetie? How ‘bout having breakfast on the balcony? So Pip can join us?’
He gave in. Ah – the romance!
What did we do before we had a dog?
